Fridays, 11:30 - 2:30pm (Main Hall)
Classes are usually fortnightly, as advertised.
The Cookery Club takes place (roughly) fortnightly on Fridays from 11.30 to 2.30 and consists of two hours of fun and informal group cookery (both demos and hands-on) followed by a lunch comprising all the things we have cooked in the morning. At the end of each session, guests are given the recipe sheets to take home. No experience is required but it is not recommended for children.
The cost per session is £30.00.
You can book any number of sessions – you don’t have to ‘join the club’ and attend them all. Simply send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone 01291 650801 and let me know which one(s) you’d like to attend.
Friday 21st October – DELECTABLE VEGETARIAN FOOD – On this session we will be making a selection of colourful and wonderfully inventive vegetarian dishes that will make your taste buds dance with delight! These Ottolenghi-style dishes are the ones that always surprise people the most in terms of how amazing and delicious they are.
Friday 11th November – PASTRY – We will make three different pastries including a very useful all-purpose enriched shortcrust, choux pastry and rough puff. These will then be used to make delicious savoury and sweet recipes for lunch. (Please note this session will be very similar in content to the fish session we did at St Briavels.)
Friday 25th November – SEASONAL TREATS – Useful recipes for the Christmas season – lots of delicious seasonal flavours and ideas for entertaining friends or treating your family.
Friday 9th December – CHRISTMAS PARTY CANAPÉS – We will make a selection of canapés ideal that not only taste wonderful but look amazing too – ideal for serving at Christmas parties. The canapés will then be served as an informal first course before a simple lunch prepared by Kather.

Katherine Marland runs Kather’s Kitchen providing full day cookery courses, corporate events, cookery demonstrations and, most recently, Monmouth Cookery Club. Kather established her fortnightly cookery club in 2015 to appeal to people who perhaps don’t have time to do a full day in the kitchen or would simply like to come and try out a range of shorter cookery sessions rather than committing to a more intensive, full day course.
Monmouth Priory provides the perfect venue for the club with its lovely, light and airy main hall and adjoining well-equipped kitchen. Kather’s cookery club menus incorporate lots of creative and imaginative recipes that can easily be reproduced at home.
